Exhibition: Michael Jackson, The Voice From Heaven

5 July 2025 - 4 January 2026

THE EXHIBITION - Michael Jackson

Michael Jackson, The Voice from Heaven.
Preview

In 1988, in front of a very cautious editorial committee at Doubleday Books, Jacqueline Bouvier Kennedy Onassis ardently defended her project: the autobiography of Michael Jackson.

She was the only one who believed in the success of the book, and she finally won her case. Moonwalk exploded in sales, becoming the best-selling book in the USA after the Bible!

In her preface, Jacqueline Bouvier Kennedy Onassis writes: ". What can we say about Michael Jackson? He is one of the most famous stage performers in the world. He is a songwriter who also knows how to dance in such an original way that he seems to defy the laws of balance, and his greatest admirers, and heroes, are Fred Astaire and Gene Kelly. His audience may not be aware of the extent of his dedication. He is rarely satisfied with his work; he is a perfectionist who constantly challenges himself. For many people, Michael Jackson is an elusive character, but those who work with him know the real Michael Jackson: sensitive, warm, funny, intuitive and clear-sighted. Michael Jackson's book, Moonwalk, sheds light on the portrait of an artist who reflects on his work and his life. "

Then, the young king of pop expresses himself over more than a hundred pages. The sincerity is great.

I've always wanted to tell stories. I'd love to sit by the fire with people around me and invent tales that they could see in pictures and that would take them somewhere else, anywhere, just with words. I'd like to make them laugh and make them cry. Stories so moving that their souls would be transformed. I can only imagine what great writers must feel, when they have such power. Sometimes I think I could do it too. It's something I'd like to develop. To a certain extent, writing songs requires the same skill, provokes the same emotions of joy and sadness. But a story is a sketch. It's quicksilver. There are very few books on the art of storytelling, how to grab attention, how to gather a group of people around you and entertain them. No costume, no make-up, no nothing, just you and your choice. And with that, you can captivate them and transform their lives, in the space of a few minutes.
